Ignite Youth Centre Celebrates 30 Years

The Ignite Youth Centre in Fairview is hosting the Bright Lights Gala on March 15 to celebrate 30 years as a club for youth in the area.

Ignite began in 1993 as a youth-driven collective. The group was looking for a fun place to hang out free from drugs and alcohol. After canvassing the Town of Fairview and local MD Councils, the group received support for the initiative and the North Peace Youth Support Association (NPYSA) was born in 1995.

After NPYSA was formed the group sought a physical location for youth to gather.

The Ministry of Infrastructure sponsored occupancy in the Fairview Provincial Building, and the group has been in that location ever since, which has enabled them to provide a wide variety of programming for youth in the area.

To celebrate this milestone anniversary, Ignite is hosting the Brights Lights Gala on March 15 at the EE Oliver School Gymnasium with an exciting performance by world-famous Dueling Pianos. The gala will also feature snacks, door prizes, 50/50 draw, a silent auction and more.

Tickets ($75) are available at Mad Dog Cresting or by calling 780-835-5455. Visit ignitefairview.com for more information.
