Held March 12-14 at the Best Western Plus Mirage Hotel in High Level, the REDI-MADE Business Showcase Event was thoroughly enjoyed by attendees.
Informative speakers, business owners, government representatives and residents gathered from across Alberta to take part in the impressive and inspiring conference.
The three days featured speakers with backgrounds as diverse as marketing, HR, angel investing, demography, agricultural science, forestry, finance and opening one of Alberta’s first micro-breweries.
There was ample time for networking and getting to know each other.
In addition, local high school students came at select times to enjoy presentations and interactive sessions with the group.
REDI Manager Andrew O’Rourke emceed the conference. He was also the main organizer of the event, which was developed to share some of the business cases REDI has been developing.
REDI unveiled 10 business cases, which are essentially market-researched plans that anyone can use to start a business with implied market potential and value-added feasibility.
As previously featured in Move Up Magazine, the business cases include peat harvesting and the production of craft canola oil, honey, a micro-brewery, industrial greenhouses, I-beam floor joists and engineered laminated wood, coloured bark mulch, tree seedlings, lithium and rare earth elements.
